Gov. Dennis Daugaard extends his invitation to communities across the state to apply to be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day. Activities for the day will include a main street walk, business tours around town and a social hour. The Governor will also hold a roundtable lunch for community leaders to meet and discuss the needs of the city.
Since 2011, Capital for a Day has been hosted by Mitchell, Canton, Onida, Volga, Hill City, Britton, De Smet, Viborg, Aberdeen and Lead-Deadwood.
The meeting with the Governor on April 17th to discuss towns for him to consider hosting Capital for a Day. Below is an overview schedule for CFD.
9:00 Main Street walk
10:00 Community social/coffee time with the Governor
11:00 Business tour
12:00 Community leader roundtable lunch on a specific topic town picks
