In his report, Dr. Loomis utilized the Deuel County multiplier purchased from IMPLAN as well as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s Jobs and Economic Development Impact model to detail the county and state economic impacts including the number of short-term and long-term jobs, earnings, and economic input.
As a high level summary, the project represents a significant investment from Invenergy and will consist of up to 150 wind turbines and the associated access roads, transmission and communication equipment, storage areas, and control facilities necessary to generate up to 300 megawatts of power. The project will interconnect to the grid along the Brookings to Big Stone 345 kV transmission line.
